Available upon request after the 11AM Sunday Mass, our Healing Prayer Ministry teams gather at the foot of the altar, and anyone who needs prayer can come up one at a time and be prayed over. These times are called “Healing Services.”
This is the kind of prayer ministry that Jesus did when people came to him and asked him to heal them: “Jesus visited Peter’s home, his mother-in-law lay sick with fever. Jesus went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. Her fever left her and she proceeded to wait on them.” (Mt. 8:14-15)
We don’t know for sure what Jesus will do in the present time, but we can always ask for what we need. We learn that from Scripture. When people come up for prayer during the Healing Services, we are just asking for God’s will to be done. Jesus is the healer, who works through all of us.
Most often when people come for prayer, they may not “feel” the effects immediately, but rather as days go by, one begins to notice a change and feel God’s grace. One might feel more peaceful or experience inner strength.
“Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly” (Jn. 10:10). “Jesus exhorts us to ask to anything in his name so that we might receive and our joy may be complete.” (Jn. 16-24).
Please look for our next Healing Service date in the parish bulletin or feel free to ask anyone on the prayer team to prayer at any time, and praise God, the Healer!
